Amy graduated with a B.A. in Political Science and Women’s Studies from San Diego State University. She went on to attend the University of San Diego School of Law on an academic scholarship and received her Juris Doctorate in 2011 with a concentration in Criminal Litigation. In law school, Amy was a member of the Mock Trial Team and competed in state-wide trial competitions, taking first place in USD’s American Association for Justice trial competition.
Amy has worked at the San Diego County District Attorney’s Office in their Superior Court, Sex Crimes and Stalking, and Family Protection divisions. There, she had direct interaction with peace officers, collaborated on pre-trial court hearings and felony cases. She also has several years of experience in criminal defense, specifically assisting in the representation of law enforcement officers.
After several years in government, Amy entered the private sector as an Associate Attorney at Bobbitt, Pinckard & Fields. Her practice areas include all aspects of representation of law enforcement officers, including criminal defense in both State and Federal courts, Internal Affairs investigations, Officer-Involved Shooting Incidents, collective bargaining and defense of disciplinary actions. Amy has represented local, state and federal officers in investigations and administrative proceedings at local civil service commissions and arbitrations. Additionally, Amy has worked as lead counsel in oral argument and on briefings in the Superior Court and California Court of Appeal.
Amy is licensed to practice in the United States District Court for the Southern District of California and the United States Court of Appeal for the Ninth Circuit.
